The No. 2 Mount Saint Joseph boys and the No. 4 Maryvale girls both used strong depth to win track and field championships on Saturday at Calvert Hall.

Gilman and Maryvale both recorded impressive victories at the MIAA/IAAM track and field championships Friday at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover. Gilman scored 176 points to win the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association title. In the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland, Maryvale won its first girls indoor track title with 197 points.

Dulaney boys, Hereford girls on top at Barnhart Invitational

The Dulaney boys cross country team comes into the 33rd annual Barnhart Invitational on Saturday at Dulaney High as the team to beat after winning the meet in 2014 and 2013.

Last year's MIAA A Conference champion, Loyola, is ranked first, ahead of Severna Park, in the Sun's preseason boys cross country poll.

Dulaney boys soccer and volleyball, Notre Dame Prep volleyball, St. Paul¿s basketball and ice hockey, Loyola Blakefield cross country, swimming and soccer, Calvert Hall ice hockey and football, and the accomplishments Dulaney cross country runner Eric Walz highlight a memorable 2014 for Towson-area high school sports.
