The four-time league-winning Chesapeake Bayhawks will meet the Charlotte Hounds, who are just in their second year of existence, for the title after the No. 2 seed and reigning MLL champion edged the No. 3 seed Hamilton Nationals, 13-12, before an announced 4,228 Saturday in a semifinal at PPL Park.
That's when they discovered coach Dave Cottle wouldn't be with them due to a family emergency. Team president — and former coach — Brendan Kelly stepped in, and Chesapeake came together and routed Long Island, 13-6, before 10,083 at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium.
