Students in Howard County have missed nine school days because of inclement weather this winter, and the system was shut down completely for 11 days. The Howard County Public School System has applied to the Maryland State Department of Education to waive four of those days, but as of Tuesday, April 1, a waiver has not been granted.

The Harford County Public School Board of Education voted to send students to school on April 17 - previously slated as a day off spring break - to make up for an instructional day missed for inclement weather.
