Three-time Bronze Star honoree to lead Fort Meade

Col. Tom Rickard, an infantry officer who has made three deployments to Afghanistan and earned three Bronze Stars, will assume command of Fort Meade this week, officials said Tuesday. He will replace Col. Bryan P. Foley, who has served as installation commander since August 2013.

Out for the season, Maryland guard Dion Wiley maturing while rehabbing his knee

A little more than 12 hours after the No. 8 Terps celebrated their biggest victory of the season — 74-68 over No. 3 Iowa at Xfinity Center — it was game time for Dion Wiley, who is sitting out the season after tearing his meniscus in late October. Wiley said that his months of rehabilitation have set the foundation for when he is able to play again.
