With her services becoming increasingly popular, Dorota W. Marshall decided to grow her cremation business, moving it from a rented facility in Baltimore to a business park in Anne Arundel County.

The County Council tabled a controversial bill Tuesday, July 5 that would have provided a property tax credit for nonprofit swim clubs, but the bill's sponsor said she was promised the council will vote on the proposal before its August recess.

County Councilwoman Courtney Watson said at a public hearing Monday that she will support including the Columbia Association's 26 swimming pools in her bill to forgive local property taxes for six private, nonprofit Howard County swim clubs, if legally possible.
