fox and friends tv program
- As I watched Tuesday while the anchors on 'Fox & Friends' leveled unsubstantiated charges against Rep. Elijah Cummings as if they were facts, I couldn't help thinking how much more dangerous Sen. Joe McCarthy might have been in the 1950s if there had been a show like this to amplify his reckless allegations.
- Paul Ryan being selected as Mitt Romney's GOP running mate was big news late Friday night, and no one on television did a better job of covering it on the fly than MSNBC. I can't believe I typed those words either.
- Having been rejected by Maryland voters in his last campaign for office, former Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. is taking his show on the road with a new book, "Turn This Car Around," which he hopes will give him a higher national profile.
- The one overwhelming thought I have is how there is absolutely no escaping politics and conflict in these polarized and deeply troubled economic times.
