Howard County man rides 343 miles in honor of firefighters who died on 9/11

Catonsville firefighter Wendy McCord wore her helmet and turnout gear as she ascended the Hilton Baltimore five times for a total of 110 stories as a memorial to firefighters who died on Sept. 11.

Teresa Tingler won a raffle for a flag depicting the silhouette of a firefighter standing behind the skyline of New York City. The daughter of a city firefighter, Tingler will lend the flag to the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department so they can fly it on Sept. 11.

On Sunday, Sept. 11, the Shiloh Middle School History Club will host a Never Forget 5k and 1-mile fun run and walk in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11.
