- The Orioles on Tuesday revealed Buck Showalter's 25-man roster for Opening Day. The team cut promising lefty prospect Zach Britton, backup catcher Craig Tatum and utility infielder Brendan Harris. Earlier in the week, outfielder Nolan Reimold was sent to to Triple-A Norfolk, too.
- Baltimore is blessed with a bunch of talented sports bloggers who bring their unique perspective to the conversation. I often link up to these local writers in my morning Coffee Companion posts, but instead of just exchanging anti-social links with them, I have decided to be slightly less anti-social by exchanging emails with them in a somewhat regular Q&A feature called Blogger on Blogger.
- Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts has been sidelined with back spasms for a week now, and it's unclear when he'll return to the diamond down in Sarasota. Orioles manager Buck Showalter says he isn't worrying yet, but he will be soon if Roberts remains sidelined.
- As far as trade bait goes, left fielder Luke Scott is the juiciest player the Orioles can dangle out there. Would you trade him if you were the Orioles?
- Somehow, I was able to track FoxSports.com's Ken Rosenthal down Monday night for a phone interview as he was on his way to an airport somewhere on the West Coast. We talked about a lot of things, from the Orioles' farm system and the Buck Showalter effect to the young pitching staff

- Never and I chatted about a lot of things Wednesday, from Adam Jones, Matt Wieters and the talented young pitching staff to the Buck Showalter effect and the blueprint for winning in the AL East. Neyer also gave his outlook for the Orioles in 2011, though my headline kind of spoils the big finish.

- The signing of veteran slugger Vladimir Guerrero was encouraging news for the Orioles organization. Well, except for maybe Nolan Reimold and Felix Pie, who are now expected to battle it out for the team's fourth outfielder spot during spring training. I don't know how Reimold took the news, but Pie was probably too busy putting out rap albums and chasing after umpires to take notice (this is all speculation, of course).
