In Baltimore, at least, the snow has finally melted and college lacrosse wins and losses and have taken on greater importance after more than a month's worth of games. As we head toward the season's midpoint, trends are beginning to emerge. Here's my take on what we've seen thus far.
Midfielder Billy Ward scored the game-winner in the second overtime period as host No. 8 Syracuse (8-3, 2-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) beat No. 4 North Carolina, 11-10, on Saturday, ending the Tar Heels' four-game winning streak.
No. 20 Bucknell fell behind early to No. 2 host Cornell in men's lacrosse Tuesday. But Chase Bailey scored the game-winner with one minute left to finish a second-half rally as the visiting Bison upset the Big Red, 9-8, in a game delayed by snow.
