Orioles announce minor league deals with five players

The Orioles announced Monday afternoon that they’ve signed five players -- right-hander Tim Alderson, right-hander Brock Huntzinger, left-hander Nick Additon, outfielder Chih-Hsien Chiang and outfielder Kyeong Kang -- to minor league deals.

It is likely that Alderson, Huntzinger and Additon will receive invitations to major league spring training, but the club won’t announce that until later this offseason.

The Orioles re-signed Alderson after acquiring him from the Pittsburgh Pirates in July in a deal that sent outfielder Russ Canzler to the Pirates. The 25-year-old Alderson was 5-3 with a 3.86 ERA in 88 2/3 innings over 44 appearances last season with the Pirates’ Double-A...
