- C. Milton Wright scored 21 points in the fourth quarter Friday night to come from behind and beat visiting Joppatowne, 63-54, in an UCBAC Chesapeake Division boys basketball game.
- The C. Milton Wright Mustangs boys basketball team squandered a 16-point halftime lead Friday night in Edgewood, but the Mustangs were able to regroup and win the UCBAC Chesapeake Division game in overtime. The Mustangs won, 70-63.
- More season opening action took place again Friday as Harford County athletic teams moved into early regular season play. At Havre de Grace on the hardwood, the Warriors (2-0) hosted Joppatowne a night after both posted wins on Thursday.
- Harford County’s two favorites to win the UCBAC’s Chesapeake Division boys basketball title met in Joppatowne Friday night and the game, as expected, did not disappoint. Visiting C. Milton Wright and Joppatowne played a tight contest throughout, with CMW (2-0, 7-1) pulling out the 73-68 win over
- Orioles left-hander Zach Britton was hoping to get more than one start to show the organization that he had regained the form that made him one of the club's most promising pitchers a few years ago. He is going to have to do that again at Triple-A.
