Westminster sisters use music to help community

Eleven-year-old Carrie Geisler and her sister, 15-year-old Jessica Geisler, of Westminster, are using their love of music to help others. The siblings are holding a Hope for the Hungry concert from 6 to 8 p.m. May 30. The event, featuring country, pop and classical music, will be held in the Fellowship Hall at Saint Paul's United Church of Christ, at 17 Bond Street in Westminster.

Jazz Under the Stars a farewell bash at Glenelg High

This summer, the Glenelg High School Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Barry Enzman, will perform at many of the famous jazz festivals in Europe. To raise money for the trip a contest was held to design a T-shirt which could be sold to promote the Jazz Under the Stars Concert.

Area group brings all ages together through music

In an effort to share the excitement of the stage with budding musicians and music lovers, the JoeyDCares Rock Orchestra is holding an open rehearsal showcase at the Freedom Optimist Hall, in Sykesville, April 24. The JoeyDCares Rock Orchestra consists of youth and adult musicians and singers who play concerts for charity, said Joey Dundore, founder, music director and executive director of the group.
