Men's lacrosse: Penn State holds on to edge No. 12 Hofstra, 8-7

Penn State took the lead in the first minute and never trailed, and an own goal by visiting No. 12 Hofstra led to an 8-7 upset win for the Nittany Lions on Saturday.

The victory gave Penn State a winning record in its last regular season in the Colonial Athletic Association before a move to the Big Ten. It also made the Nittany Lions (7-6, 3-2), who cannot play in the CAA tournament, eligible for an at-large NCAA tournament bid.
