Maryland has the second best health care system in the country, according to an analysis of 29 metrics by personal finance website WalletHub.

The report compared factors such as health care costs, access to health care and outcomes among Washington, DC and the 50 states.

Here were some of Maryland's rankings among the factors measured:

• 3^rd – average monthly insurance premium
• 3^rd – number of physicians per capita
• 6^th – number of dentists per capita
• 12^th – percent of adults aged 18 to 64 with health insurance
