He has a hard-earned reputation as one of the most intense competitors to play in the NFL and one of the best pass catchers of his era. An undersized receiver who was initially labeled a return specialist, Steve Smith Sr. has 915 career catches, 13,262 receiving yards and 73 receiving touchdowns.
