Joseph W. McLeary, who had careers with the city police department, state police and the Department of Homeland Security, died Sunday of a massive stroke at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. He was 73. - For McKenzie Zepp's 13th birthday, she asked her family and friends for one gift: a donation to the Carroll Hospital Center's Carroll Regional Cancer Center.
- Havre de Grace Little League is holding registrations for baseball and softball for one more time this month and twice more in February at Stancill Park.
- The Polar Bear Plunge Havre de Grace-style, the Susquehanna Hose Company Duck Dunk, a fundraiser for the volunteer fire department, will be held Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon at the Havre de Grace Yacht Basin's far launch ramp.

- Cockeysville man, Josh Christina, at 18, is the youngest person to be named to the Maryland Country Music Hall of Fame, along with another member of their band, Good Old Stuff. Christina also released a CD as a solo artist in November.

- I did find time to enjoy gardening, boating, crabbing, and bow-hunting. I moved my mother to Aberdeen to be closer to the family and my pets Sasha are Tiger Lilly are doing well; my dear Mom has adopted my cat tiger.
