The board of directors for the Bainbridge Museum met on Saturday in the museum at 6 S. Main St. Although the museum usually closes for three months from the middle of December to the middle of March, the museum has remained open this year, except on days when bad weather prevents it
Joseph W. McLeary, who had careers with the city police department, state police and the Department of Homeland Security, died Sunday of a massive stroke at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. He was 73.

WXCY and the Community Fire Company of Perryville with Nashville recording artist Katie Armiger will have a "Salute to Heroes" benefit event concert for the David Barr Jr. Memorial Fund this Saturday at the Minker Fire Hall. Cockeysville man, Josh Christina, at 18, is the youngest person to be named to the Maryland Country Music Hall of Fame, along with another member of their band, Good Old Stuff. Christina also released a CD as a solo artist in November.

Tthe Towson Elks Lodge No. 469 packs and gives out 500 to 600 bags to veterans at three Veterans Affairs hospitals in the area each Christmas. Part of the mission of the Elks is to serve veterans, said Joe Lancaster, chairman of the Veterans Service Committee for the Towson Elks.
