Vanessa's Corner Pub donates to American Cancer Society with proceeds from Ladies Night Out event - Unfortunately a bill recently passed by the Baltimore City Council allowing the use of e-cigarettes in restaurants, taverns and casinos not only weakens Baltimore and Maryland's longstanding and popular smoke-free laws, it threatens the health of many city workers. We urge Mayor Rawlings-Blake to see through the tobacco industry smokescreen and use her power to veto this ordinance.

As the signal to begin was sounded, the mass of people surged forward, creating a veritable river of pink winding in its course.

According to the CDC, over 220,000 women and 2,000 men were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011. Excluding some forms of skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common kind of cancer among women, and a leading cause of death among women of various ethnicities.

She asked who in the room had been diagnosed with cancer, and more than two score hands went up. She then asked who worked in the medical field, and another 20 hands were raised. She finally asked who knew someone who has been diagnosed with cancer, and everyone put a hand in the air.
