Baltimore County Public Library's Summer Reading Program begins June 16 and runs through Aug. 10 is not only awarding more prizes to children for reading more often. It is celebrating "the wonders of all types of science."

A man walked into the SECU building in the 8600 block of LaSalle Road at about 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 29 and asked a teller what his account balance was. After hearing the balance, the man threatened the teller with a screwdriver, lighter and scissors.
A cone-shaped funnel with bubble wrap and a plastic bag parachute not only protected the egg, but won the seventh-grade team from St. John School in Westminster the fourth annual Egg Drop Contest, hosted by Notre Dame Preparatory School In Towson on Jan. 28.
