Maryland basketball nearing deal to meet Seton Hall in home-and-home series, per report

Maryland is in the last stages of settling a home-and-home series with Seton Hall of the Big East Conference, per a FanRags report.

The series is expected to begin Dec. 22 in College Park. The Terps’ away game at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., would be set for the 2019-20 season.

Maryland, which leads the Pirates 2-1 in their three total meetings, has never hosted Seton Hall at Xfinity Center. The Terps have not shared a court with the Pirates since 1975.

The Pirates advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament this past season, where they fell to No. 1 seed Kansas. It was Seton Hall’s third straight appearance in the Big Dance.

The pending agreement adds a much-needed quality opponent to Maryland’s relatively weak nonconference schedule.
