In this week's recruiting roundup, the Terps get a punter, and their net for a class of 2015 guard gets a bit bigger.

Football recruiting

-- Class of 2014 punter Lee Shrader reprotedly will join the program as a preferred walk-on. The Warwick (Va.) senior was ranked the No. 11 punter in his class by kohlskicking.com.

-- Class of 2015 quarterback target Kai Locksley (Gilman) picked up an offer Saturdayfrom Miami on a recent unofficial-visit spree that also included trips to Florida State and Oregon.

-- Class of 2015 athlete target Jalen Christian included Maryland among his top 11 on Monday.

-- Class of 2015 defensive back target Marcus Lewis named Ohio State his favorite Tuesday.

-- Class of 2015 offensive line target Will McLain visited for the Terps basketball game last Monday against Syracuse. The Middletown junior has an offer from Maryland, West Virginia, Temple and James Madison.

Basketball recruiting

-- Class of 2014 guard signee Melo Trimble scored 30 points last Wednesday in an 82-69 win before being held to eight in a Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association semifinal loss to nationally ranked Paul VI. Bishop O'Connell (Va.) next plays Thursday, against Mount St. Joseph in the Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament.

-- Class of 2014 guard signee Dion Wiley combined for 24 points in two wins in the Class 2A state playoffs this week. It's been a quiet season of late for the Potomac guard, who hasn't eclipsed 17 points in the past five games.

-- Class of 2014 center signee Trayvon Reed had 14 points as teammate and Class of 2015 target Malik Ellison went for 21 in a 62-48 win Saturday. Terrapin Station MD offered this review: "After witnessing Reed in person on two occasions, it’s clear how dominant the Georgia native can be."

-- Class of 2015 point guard target Jalen Adams received a Maryland offer Saturday. Terps coaches saw the four-star Cushing Academy (Mass.) prospect last month, though not for this game:

-- Class of 2015 shooting guard target Terance Mann received a Maryland offer Friday. Georgetown is considered the favorite for the Tilton School (N.H.) four-star prospect, who can do things like this

-- Class of 2015 shooting guard target Chris Clarke also received a Maryland offer Friday. The three-star Cape Henry (Va.) prospect also has offers from Creighton, East Carolina, Kansas State and Old Dominion. One strength of his: dunking.
