Ex-Virginia coach Mike London reportedly will be named Terps associate head coach and defensive line coach.

Former Virginia coach Mike London will join coach DJ Durkin's staff at Maryland as associate head coach and defensive line coach, reported Tuesday night.

The move comes after former Syracuse coach Scott Shafer joined Durkin's staff as defensive coordinator.

London resigned from his post at Virginia on Nov. 29 after the Cavaliers finished 4-8.

London coached for six seasons at Virginia and had a 27-46 record. He's regarded as a top recruiter of Washington, Maryland and Virginia, and his addition comes after former Friendship Collegiate coach Aazaar Abdul-Rahim joined Durkin's staff.

London has previous college coaching experience at Richmond, where he won a Football Championship Subdivision championship in 2008, Boston College and William & Mary. London played defensive back for the Dallas Cowboys in the early 1980s.
