Full coverage: Mayor Pugh's 'Healthy Holly' books, UMMS board deals

Notre Dame's head coach is a native of Bethesda and served as an assistant at Duke from 1987-1995: "My memories of going into Cole Field House and the crowds that Maryland would have for Duke, the energy the Maryland crowd had and I think the Duke crowd had for Maryland -- there was something going on there that developed into a heckuva rivalry. The thing that made it interesting in my time at Duke was we recruited a lot of kids from D.C. and we had a lot of Washington-area kids on the team and I think that kind of fueled the fire and the Maryland fans even more. ... The game that sticks out during my tenure was when Gary Williams had pneumonia and Mike K was out and the Joe Smith tip-in at the buzzer and Billy Hahn dancing at halfcourt at Cameron. When I see him on the road still I say, 'Hey, you are still the only guy who was dancing at halfcourt at Cameron after a win' and we still get a good chuckle out of that."
