Terps to start football series with Syracuse, reports say

Maryland and Syracuse are working to schedule a non-conference football series that would begin sometime after the Terps depart the ACC for the Big Ten next summer, according to various media reports.

While talking to reporters at ACC Media Day in Greensboro, N.C., Maryland coach Randy Edsall, who graduated from Syracuse in 1980, mentioned the discussions with his alma mater.

Syracuse.com cited Syracuse deputy athletics director Herman Frazier as saying the series will “definitely” happen and the non-conference matchups would take place a “few years down the road.” The Terps and Orange will meet as ACC opponents on Nov. 9 at Byrd Stadium.
