Preview:
College of Charleston returns three starters from last season's 22-12 team that upset North Carolina. The Cougars are coached by Bobby Cremins, who enters his 30th season of coaching (fifth with Charleston).
Maryland will try to protect its outstanding home record from last season, when its only Comcast Center loss was to an early non-conference opponent (William & Mary).
The Terps are relying so far on a veteran lineup, but gave plenty of early minutes to freshmen guards Terrell Stoglin, Pe'Shon Howard and other newcomers in their win over Seattle University on Monday. This is the Terps' second game in the 2K Sports Classic Benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer.
Maryland is advising fans to get to the game early due to expected traffic congestion because of the early start time, rush hour and UMUC night school.
