Maryland running back Caleb Porzel is leaving the university and will transfer, an athletic department official confirmed Thursday.
A highly touted in-state recruit two years ago, Porzel appeared in seven games and started one as a true freshman for the Terps last season, running for 75 yards on 30 carries and zero touchdowns.
Porzel was expected to split playing time with backup running backs Davin Meggett and D.J. Adams behind expected starter Da'Rel Scott this season.
