Maryland has offered Poly boys basketball sophomore Justin Lewis, he tweeted Monday, making the four-star forward the first Baltimore-area prospect in either the Class of 2019 or 2020 to receive a Terps scholarship offer.

The 6-foot-7, 225-pound Lewis is rated the No. 63 overall prospect in the 247Sports.com Composite rankings for sophomore recruits. He also claims offers from Georgetown, Penn State, Boston College, Kansas State and Texas Christian, among others, and has participated in several U.S. men’s junior national team minicamps.

Lewis, a Calvert Hall transfer, has helped lead No. 6 Poly (21-4) to the Class 3A state semifinals. The Engineers will face Stephen Decatur of Worcester County on Thursday at Xfinity Center in College Park.

The Terps will have two Baltimore-area recruits on next year’s roster, with former Mount Saint Joseph star Darryl Morsell reuniting with close friend and incoming recruit Jalen Smith. Maryland also offered Kentucky-bound senior guard Immanuel Quickley (John Carroll). No other local juniors or sophomores have received a public offer.
