The Maryland football team had six players named to Phil Steele's preseason All-Big Ten Conference team, and kicker Brad Craddock was the Terps' lone preseason All-American.
Cornerback Will Likely and Craddock were both named to Steele's All-Big Ten first team. Likely also made third team as a kick returner and fourth team as a punt retuner.
Likely, a junior, finished in a tie for the conference lead with six interceptions last season, two of which he returned for touchdowns. As a returner, he took three kicks to the house.
Craddock, meanwhile, is the reigning Lou Groza Award winner, which is given annually to the country's top kicker. While the senior beat Florida State's Roberto Aguayo for the honor, Steele has the Seminoles' kicker as the first-team All-American with Craddock on the second team. Craddock finished last season 18-for-19 on field-goal attempts including a school record 57-yarder against the eventual national champions, Ohio State.
Offensive lineman Andrew Zeller made the All-Big Ten fourth team. Marcus Leak was also named to the fourth team, but the wide receiver withdrew from the university last week.
Defensive back Sean Davis was named to the second team and defensive end Yannick Ngakoue made Steele's fourth team.
The Terps open the season Sept. 5 at home against Richmond and start Big Ten play Oct. 3 against Michigan in College Park.
