The twin brothers, who play at Bishop McNamara in Forestville, are the first players to commit for 2019. New Maryland assistant coach Kevin Broadus, who was hired this spring to replace Cliff Warren, was the lead recruiter on the Mitchells.

The Mitchells will join four-star forward Jalen Smith (Mount St. Joseph), who has committed for 2018. The Terps are also reportedly high on the list for five-star center Moses Brown of Queens, N.Y. and five-star forward Silvio DeSousa.

Brown and DeSousa, who like incoming freshman Bruno Fernando left Angola and now plays at the IMG Academy in Florida, could be part of a monster 2018 class at Maryland, The Terps have also received a commitment for 2018 from Aaron Wiggins, a four-star wing from High Point, N.C.
