As commits sign, Terps add Fla. three-star wide receiver Jeshaun Jones

Jeshaun Jones held off on making his commitment until the start of college football’s new early signing period, but Maryland didn’t mind the wait.

The South Fort Myers (Fla.) three-star wide receiver announced Wednesday morning that he was signing with the Terps, spurning offers from runners-up Nebraska, Iowa State and Pittsburgh.

Jones, 6 feet 1, 176 pounds, is the second new pledge in Maryland’s top-25 recruiting class in as many days, and the second to come from the Fort Myers area. On Tuesday, three-star North Fort Myers linebacker Fa'najae Gotay also chose the Terps, tagging Jones in his tweet announcing the commitment.

According to MaxPreps.com, Jones, rated the No. 102 wide receiver prospect in the 247Sports.com Composite rankings, had 30 catches for 359 yards and three touchdowns as well as 60 carries for 537 yards and four touchdowns this season. He’s the fourth wide receiver in Maryland’s incoming class.
