The sixth-seeded Maryland baseball team won its first-round game in the Big Ten tournament Wednesday, defeating third-seeded Illinois, 6-2.Starting pitcher Hunter Parsons earned his 10th win, giving up one run in 7 1/3 innings. Justin Vought also hit a two-run homer off of reliever Sean Leland, who took the loss for Illinois (36-19) after allowing four runs on just 21 pitches in the eighth.The Terps (29-27) next play Thursday, when they’ll face No. 7 seed Ohio State, a 2-1 winner over No. 2 seed Michigan, at 6 p.m.
