Maryland will play Georgetown on Nov. 15 at Verizon Center as one of eight matchups in the Gavitt Tipoff Games between Big Ten and Big East men's basketball teams.

The game, the only rematch from the 2015-16 series, will be televised on Fox Sports 1.

Trailing for much of the second half, No. 3 Maryland came from seven points down in the last six minutes to win, 75-71, before a sellout crowd of 17,950 at Xfinity Center.

"We are excited to continue this series with Georgetown," Maryland coach Mark Turgeon said in a news release. "Last season's game was a tremendous experience for our university, program and fans. It will be an outstanding early-season game against a well-coached Georgetown team that we have a lot of respect for."

Greivis Vasquez, a sixth-year NBA veteran and legend at Maryland, arrived at Xfinity Center about 11 p.m.

The Terps and Hoyas renewed their rivalry last season in College Park, where Maryland won, 75-71.

The teams hadn't played locally since the Terps won 84-83 in overtime on Nov. 26, 1993, at the Capital Centre in Landover.

Maryland and Georgetown played each other every season from 1947 to 1976. The Terps lead the series 37-27.
