Maryland junior center Brendan Moore was named to the Rimington Trophy fall watch list for the second consecutive year Tuesday. The award is presented annually to the most outstanding center in Division I.
Moore, 6 feet 3, 300 pounds, started all 13 games for the Terps as a sophomore in 2016, helping Maryland rush for more than 2,500 yards for the first time since 2003.
Moore also helped Ty Johnson become the ninth 1,000-yard rusher in Maryland history last season as the Terps averaged 199.5 rushing yards per game, fourth-best in the Big Ten.
Other players from the Big Ten named to the list include Ohio State senior Billy Price, Northwestern redshirt senior Brad North, Michigan State senior Brian Allen, Iowa junior James Daniels, Minnesota redshirt junior Jared Weyler, Wisconsin junior Michael Deiter and Illinois junior Nick Allegretti.
The Mid-American Conference had the most players on the list with 12, followed by the Big 12 and Southeastern Conference with eight each.
The winner will be announced at the Rococo Theatre in Lincoln, Neb., on Jan. 13, 2018.
