Weekly Maryland recruiting roundup

Melo Trimble's big summer on the AAU circuit was noticed by at least one recruiting service.

The Maryland-bound combo guard rose to No. 35 nationally -- a three-spot jump -- in 247Sports' updated 2014 rankings.

Terps shooting guard pledge Dion Wiley, meanwhile, dropped 10 spots to No. 58, while UM wing recruit Jared Nickens settled in at No. 106.

Football recruiting

** The Austin American-Statesman named Terps commitment Brendan Moore the second-best offensive tackle in the Austin area.

Like [Robert] Castaneda, Moore was a 2012 unanimous all-district first team selection. He is committed to play ball at Maryland (which will be in the Big 10 when he gets there). Moore is 6-foot-4-inches tall and 270 pounds. His biggest physical trait is above average speed for a tackle. He's quick, which allows him to make plays.
