Florida became the latest high-major program to offer him a scholarship on Thursday, joining a long list that includes Providence, West Virginia, Boston College, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Iowa State, Maryland, Miami, Rutgers, Kansas State and Seton Hall among others.

** The Washington Post's Brandon Parker checked in this week on several All-Met contenders, including Maryland combo guard commitment Melo Trimble.
What makes Trimble dangerous is his ability to create his own shot. He can break down opponents off the dribble and has a floater that reminds me of the Spurs' Tony Parker. Plus, at 175 pounds, he's already got a solid build for when he joins Mark Turgeon's Terps.
** Mount St. Joseph guard and Terps target Phil Booth was named the Baltimore Catholic League Defensive Player of the Year on Monday. The Gaels junior was also selected to the BCL first team.
** The St. Paul (Minn.) Pioneer Press conducted a Q&A this week with Rashad Vaughn, a 2014 Terps shooting guard target.
Alstork's progression paid off Friday night, when he accepted a scholarship offer from Drake University while visiting the school in Des Moines, Iowa. He'd recently received offers from several other schools along with interest from major-conference programs like Oregon and Maryland, but in the end it came down to comfort.
Whether it was a make, miss or turnover, the Vikings kept the ball moving quickly up the court most of the night, then relied on Shatori Walker-Kimbrough for the majority of the points. Walker-Kimbrough finished with a double-double as she added 11 rebounds to her game-high 35 points.
Each of the starters stepped up in different spots. Harrison, the Maryland-bound senior, scored nine in the fourth quarter as the Rams closed the game out. She also did a good job of helping bring the ball up against the Knights' pressure defense.
The state championship is on March 9, and my goal is to still be playing at that point. After this last go-round in the playoffs, I will have completed my high school career. I have experienced so much success and victory with my team these past three seasons at North Gwinnett, so playoff time this year is bittersweet.
