Here are highlights from Mark Turgeon's post-game analysis-interview-therapy session. Give the man credit. He says what's on his mind. If you are a Terps fan, you feel his evident pain.
*Turgeon said the Terps were undone partly by shooting just 60 percent (15-25) on free throws. "It should have been a 12-point game at halftime," he said. Maryland, in fact, led by four after missing seven free throws.
*He said Maryland showed in the first half that it has made strides since the Puerto Rico Tip-Off. The Terps "were executing plays and doing things," the coach said.
*But then the second half arrived. 'We couldn't get into the offense in the second half," Turgeon said. A big reason was that Maryland's point-guard deficiencies showed. The Terps really miss the injured Pe'Shon Howard, right?
Turgeon said Terrell Stoglin didn't get back on defense in the second half and Nick Faust was missing shots.
"The poor kid, he's lost his confidence," Turgeon said of Faust. "He's airballing shots. He's a young kid."
Said the coach: "We do not right now at this point know how ... to win against a good team."
