Micah Thomas, a 6-foot-7 small forward from Memphis, Tenn., committed to Maryland on Tuesday.
Thomas, who played this season at Huntington Prep in West Virginia, announced on Twitter that he had picked the Terps.
A three-star recruit, Thomas had also been considering Louisville.
Thomas joins four-star recruits Anthony Cowan Jr., a 5-11 point guard at St. John's High School in Washington, and Kevin Huerter, a 6-7 guard from Clifton Park, N.Y., in the Class of 2016.
The Terps could also draw interest from 6-6 shooting guard Canyon Barry, the son of NBA great Rick Barry.
The younger Barry, who led the College of Charleston in scoring this season before suffering a shoulder injury last month, announced that he planned to transfer after graduating this summer.
One of Barry's four older brothers, Scooter, was Maryland coach Mark Turgeon's roommate at Kansas.
