A day after the Maryland football team's first loss of the season, the Terps added another recruit to their Class of 2017.Three-star Hampton (Va.) athlete Dazz Newsome announced his oral commitment Sunday to Maryland on Twitter, becoming the 18th member of the class.The 5-foor-10, 165-pound Newsome is the son of former Virginia Tech linebacker Myron Newsome and brother of current Hokies wide receiver Deon Newsome.Maryland offered Newsome less than a week ago, joining other schools such as Iowa State and Marshall. He's rated the No. 35 prospect in Virginia and the No. 83 athlete nationally in the Class of 2017 by 247Sports.comIn addition to playing defensive back, Newsome was named a Group 5A first-team all-state punt returner and second-team all-state wide receiver. He had 18 touchdowns overall last season, according to the Daily Press.
