Junior-college cornerback Alex Woods, a three-star prospect who has three years of college eligibility remaining, committed to Maryland at the end of his official visit Sunday, he announced on Twitter.
"After talking it over with my family,I have decided to end my recruiting," he wrote. "I have decided to commit to the University of Maryland . #Goterps"
The Lackawanna (Pa.) College sophomore pledged to West Virginia in June but decommitted in November after taking a visit to College Park. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Woods also had offers from East Carolina, North Carolian State, New Mexico, Sacred Heart and Troy.
Aazaar Abdul-Rahim, who coaches defensive backs for Maryland, was Woods' recruiter. The pledge is the Terps' 22nd in the Class of 2017 and fifth defensive back. Woods is also the team's fourth commit in two days, after Eleanor Roosevelt's Lawtez Rogers committed Thursday.
