Terps freshman cornerback Will Likely has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference's Co-Rookie of the Week.
Likely returned a punt 63 yards for a touchdown in Saturday's 27-24 overtime win at Virginia Tech. It was Maryland's first punt return for a score since Tony Logan returned one 84 yards for a score against Duke on Oct. 2, 2010.
Likely finished the game with 179 all-purpose yards (106 on punt returns and 73 on kickoff return yards). Defensively, he made three tackles and also broke up a pass.
He shares this week's rookie honors with North Carolina freshman Ryan Switzer,, who returned two punts for touchdowns in the Tar Heels' 34-27 win at Pitt.
