Terps make cut for five-star John Carroll junior guard Immanuel Quickley

Maryland is one of eight schools still under consideration by John Carroll junior point guard Immanuel Quickley, he announced Monday night.

The five-star prospect in the Class of 2018 wrote on Twitter that Duke, Kansas, Washington, Miami, Kentucky, Virginia, Providence and the Terps had made his latest cut. All but Duke have offered, according to 247Sports.com

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound guard is the No. 11 overall prospect in the 247Sports.com Composite rankings and No. 3 point guard recruit.

He was named the All-Metro Player of the Year last season and helped the United States win the FIBA Under-17 World Championship this summer.

With Class of 2017 blue-chip point guard recruit Trevon Duval not headed to College Park, a ball handler will be a need for the Terps in the Class of 2018. Maryland also is recruiting and considered the favorite for Gonzaga (D.C.) junior guard Prentiss Hubb, a top-40 recruit.
