Terps' Cheeseboro suffers concussion in bicycle-bus accident

Maryland wide receiver Tyrek Cheeseboro suffered a concussion when his bicycle collided with a bus Tuesday morning. The injury will force the redshirt sophomore from Baltimore to miss Saturday's game at No. 8 Florida State.

The accident occurred at a campus intersection, Terps coach Randy Edsall said.

"[Cheeseboro] came across, the bus came and he hit the bus — driver's side window — and shattered the glass," Edsall said. "He went down and had a concussion. His head hit the curb. His left side is pretty banged up. They took him to the hospital and everything checked out."

Cheeseboro, a backup, is expected to return, but it's not certain when.

"He's lucky. He's a fortunate young man," Edsall said.

Cheeseboro has had injury issues and has not played this season, but he was listed as the backup to Malcolm Culmer on the depth chart that was released the day before his accident. Cheeseboro was a key special teams performer last season.

He attended Milford Mill and Fork Union Academy before college.

Here's a look at this week's full injury report, which does not include wide receiver Nigel King, who has been out since the UConn game:
