Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs (Maryland) was named the NFL's Pepsi Rookie of the Week after a breakthrough performance Sunday.
In his first career start, Diggs caught seven passes for 129 yards to help the Vikings hold off the Kansas City Chiefs, 16-10. His 129 receiving yards trail only Oakland Raiders receiver Amari Cooper's 134 against the Cleveland Browns for most by a rookie this season.

Diggs, a Gaithersburg native who turned pro after three productive but injury-plagued seasons in College Park, has 216 receiving yards this season and is the first Minnesota rookie receiver with consecutive 80-plus-yard games since Randy Moss.
The 21-year-old was a fifth-round NFL draft pick in May. Now he's on Rookie of the Year watches.
