Four-star wide receiver Tino Ellis, of DeMatha, will announce his college commitment live on Comcast Sports Network on July 31 at 6 p.m., according to a tweet from CSN reporter Rob Carlin.
Ellis narrowed his possible schools down to six on July 4 with Maryland, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Rutgers, Nebraska and Kentucky making the list. The Terps and Hokies are considered the two frontrunners, though, with Virginia Tech a slight favorite.
While the senior wouldn't join a college roster until 2016, he would add much-needed talent to a depleted Terps receiving corps. Maryland lost starters Stefon Diggs and Deon Long to the NFL while Marcus Leak and Juwann Winfree both withdrew from the university this offseason.
Coach Randy Edsall already received a verbal commitment from four-star quarterback Dwayne Haskins Jr. to headline his 2016 class and Diggs' younger brother, four-star receiver Trevon Diggs, is a favorite to join Maryland in 2016 as well.
Ellis is listed as the 46th best wide receiver in the 2016 class, according to 247sports, and the ninth best player in the state.
