Maryland to host Virginia in ACC-Big Ten Challenge

The Maryland men's basketball team will host Virginia in next season's ACC-Big Ten Challenge, the Terps' first since switching conferences.

After playing the last two years of the event on the road as a lame-duck ACC team, Maryland gets a home date against the longtime rival Cavaliers on Dec. 3.

Maryland beat then-No. 5 Virginia in overtime, 75-69, in its final ACC regular season game at Comcast Center on March 9.

The addition of the reigning ACC regular season and tournament champions strengthens an already formidable non-conference schedule for the Terps, who could face Iowa State in the CBE Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City in late November and will play Villanova in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York on Dec. 8.
