* That, according to a 2011 press release, Holliday -- as a disc jockey in San Francisco in 1964 -- "was an emcee for the Rolling Stones first headlining show in the U.S. In New York a few years later, he served as the announcer for the NBC program Hullaballoo, a brief competitor to ABCs American Bandstand."
* That he turned 70 during the 2007 football season with no plans to slow down or fade away?
Here's what you probably do know about Holliday -- that he joined the Terrapin Sports Radio Network in 1978 and has been on the call for 35 years. Maryland wants to pay tribute to his work.
Holliday, such a familiar part of Terps athletics, will be honored at a media availability on Oct. 1 and at halftime of the Maryland-Virginia football game on Oct 12 at Byrd Stadium.
