Maryland releases renderings of proposed indoor practice facility

The University of Maryland has released preliminary renderings of what it hopes it can build -- an indoor practice facility for football, among other uses.

The depictions -- which amount to a wish list of sorts -- show the proposed indoor field but also highlight other proposed changes to the football complex. The hope is to replace the old varsity team house that houses baseball, soccer and other sports.

The Baltimore Sun reported last month that Maryland plans to launch a campaign to raise tens of millions of dollars for the practice facility. Right now, the cost of such a facility is estimated in the range of $50 million to $80 million. But the school is still doing a cost analysis.

Some of the renderings are posted above.
