Maryland men's basketball a big draw on Big Ten Network this season

The Big Ten Conference men's basketball tournament is in Washington for the first time this week because, as commissioner Jim Delany told The Washington Post: "We're going to be living here."

And even if ticket sales fall short of what they are in Indianapolis or Chicago, it won't be because a lack of interest among Maryland fans.

Six of the Big Ten Network's top seven games in the network's history happened this year, the league announced. Of those six, three featured the Terps, including the top-rated game.

Eighteen months after the University of Maryland's jump to the Big Ten, the conference's television network is eagerly trying to make Terps fans feel more at home in their sprawling new neighborhood — an Illinois-based league with deep Midwestern roots.
