The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Gray is a former four-star recruit who redshirted last season after spending a year following high school at the Fork Union Military Academy.

He was playing mostly on the second team at left tackle during spring practice, with former five-star recruit Damian Prince starting at right tackle.

Gray was ranked by ESPN as the No. 1 high school player in Washington, D.C., as a senior at Friendship Collegiate Academy.
