Despite falling to Rutgers on Saturday, Maryland (7-5, 4-4 Big Ten) finished third in the Big Ten's East Division.
Only five teams in the conference finished with a better record than the Terps, and Maryland beat Iowa, which was also 7-5 overall and 4-4 in Big Ten play.
The Terps posted a better conference record than Rutgers (7-5, 3-5). However, the Scarlet Knights did beat Maryland head-to-head.
