One of Maryland's top defensive players will be featured in one of the top postseason all-star games for outgoing college seniors.

Terps nose tackle Darius Kilgo, likely the best NFL prospect among Maryland's senior class, has accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Game, the game's organizers announced Tuesday.

A three-year starter, the 6-foot-3, 320-pound Kilgo has 37 tackles, including seven for a loss, this season. The North Carolina native also has two sacks, a blocked kick, and he is tied for the Big Ten lead with three fumble recoveries.

Kilgo helped Maryland hold Penn State to 219 total yards during the Terps' 20-19 win Nov. 1 and was a factor in Maryland limiting the Big Ten's leader in total offense, Michigan State, to 16 offensive points through three-plus quarters Saturday.

NFLDraftScout.com rates Kilgo as the 18th-best defensive tackle prospect for the 2015 NFL draft and projects him to be selected in the fifth or sixth round.

The East-West Shrine Game will be played Jan. 17 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.
